The all-new 2024 Volvo EX30, the company's smallest ever SUV, is set to make waves in the premium all-electric segment. This compact, all-electric SUV not only enriches Volvo's growing electric vehicle portfolio but is also meticulously designed to align with the brand’s mission of sustainability, safety, and customer-centricity.
The EX30, while small, encapsulates the essence of Volvo, but in a more convenient package. From its confident, distinctly electric face to its Thor's Hammer headlights, the EX30 maintains the refined Scandinavian design aesthetic typical of Volvo, offered in five vibrant exterior colors, each adding a unique character and personality to the vehicle.
The EX30 is designed not just to deliver aesthetically but also technologically. The model provides two powertrain options, catering to varying customer needs. Those seeking maximum range can opt for the Single Motor Extended Range variant, equipped with an extended-range battery that delivers an estimated range of 275 miles, or approximately 440 km. Alternatively, speed enthusiasts might prefer the Twin Motor Performance variant, which can catapult the SUV from 0-60 mph in a swift 3.4 seconds. In both cases, charging is fast and convenient, with the ability to boost battery power from 10% to 80% in just over 26.5 minutes.
Despite its compact size, the EX30 promises a robust driving experience, thanks to its finely-tuned chassis, a low center of gravity, and evenly distributed weight that enhance city driving and beyond. The SUV also boasts advanced safety features, including a unique mechanism that helps prevent 'dooring' accidents involving cyclists, scooter riders, or runners.
Inside, the EX30 offers a relaxing and enjoyable experience, courtesy of its high-tech offerings and thoughtful Scandinavian design. Four distinct interior options are available, complemented by smart storage throughout the cabin. The EX30 also features an innovative Park Pilot Assist, facilitating seamless parking in various types of spaces. A contextual single-screen UX with Google integration runs the latest version of Volvo's infotainment system, providing an exceptional user experience, developed in collaboration with Google, Apple, Qualcomm, and others.
Additionally, the EX30 brings a sense of calm inside the car through its five ambient lighting themes, each inspired by a different Scandinavian landscape and subtly shifting colors. The surprise, however, is the announcement of the Cross Country variant, set to launch next year in select markets. Building on Volvo's adventure-focused heritage, this variant will come with bespoke features like increased ground clearance, 19-inch black wheels, and skidplates.
